With innovation, courage, and a fierce belief in what we can achieve together, we can make Boston an even better place to live, work and raise a family. I look forward to this new chapter in the story of Boston. Please know that if I can be of assistance to you or your family, be it a constituent request or policy issue – I am ready to help. The Boston City Council’s Special Committee on Small Business, Entrepreneurship & Innovation has scheduled a hearing to discuss free-standing sidewalk signs, sponsored by Councilor Michael F. Flaherty. The hearing will take place in the City Council Chambers on July 23, 2015 at 2:00 pm.

The hearing comes in response to the confusion around the varying regulations that govern free-standing sidewalk signs in current zoning code. The City of Boston zoning codes for such signs differ based on neighborhoods, business districts and sub-districts.
